THIS COLLECTION WAS CONCEIVED WITH THE IDEA OF CREATING PIECES OF FURNITURE THAT APPEAR TO BE FLOATING.

WITH THE TRANSLUCENT QUARTZ AND THE PUFFY, CLOUD-LIKE CHAIRS - ALEXANDER EXPLORES THE IDEA OF FURNITURE THAT ACQUIRE AN ANTHROPOMORPHIC QUALITY THAT ALLOWS THE OBSERVER TO DRAW ON REFERENCES FROM NATURE OR MAYBE EVEN SCIENCE FICTION.

 ARTWORK FROM ANDREAS DIAZ ANDERSSON.

ANDREAS’ WORKS ARE USUALLY MADE WITH A COMBINATION OF CANVAS,PLASTISOL PAINTS, YARN AND

OXIDIZED LIQUIDS THAT CREATE A CHAOTIC ELEMENT IN THE OTHERWISE SYSTEMATIC WORKS OF ANDREAS. FOR DESIGN MIAMI, ANDREAS COLLABORATED WITH ALEXANDER TO CREATE HIS FIRST SCULPTURE SERIES OF TWO DIMENSIONAL HANGING SCULPTURES THAT PLAY A TRICK ON THE EYE.

THEY ARE MADE IN BRASS THAT HAVE BEEN OXIDIZED TO CREATE VISUAL VOLUMES. PAYING TRIBUTE TO  THE MEMORY OF REUTERSVARD ANDREAS CREATES HIS OWN TAKE ON THE IMPOSSIBLE FIGURE.
